The La Idea Incubator Program is a Department of State initiative offering entrepreneurs of the Pacific Alliance special access to the US network of business incubators to facilitate mutual investment opportunities and to support the Alliance’s visionary efforts to build the next generation of innovative, globally competitive companies.
The program consists of three two week training sessions for entrepreneurs from Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, hosted and organized by renown business incubators in the United States.
Each session focused on a different industry: agribusiness, advanced manufacturing and health services.
Varela Consulting manages all aspects of the program, coordinating with the three partner institutions and the four Pacific Alliance countries, tracking and supporting all the participating entrepreneurs. Varela Consulting is responsible for ensuring compliance with the program requirements and the quality of the training provided.
The US institutions hosting the participants were: the Louisiana Business & Technology Center, based in Baton Rouge Louisiana which provided training in Agribusiness; the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center, based in Corpus Christi Texas which provided training in the area of Advanced Manufacturing; and TECH Fort Worth, based in Fort Worth Texas which provided training in Health Services.
The three partner institutions were responsible for hosting the program participants and executing the training. Each institution developed the course content, arranged for instructors and guest speakers to present the materials, organized tours and site visits.
